Can you vinyl wrap bathroom cabinets?
Yes — bathroom cabinet wrapping is one of our most common non-kitchen requests. The key difference from kitchen wrapping is the environment: bathrooms have higher humidity, more direct water exposure near sinks and baths, and more steam. This means you need to use the right film and apply it correctly.
With moisture-resistant vinyl and proper edge-sealing, bathroom cabinet wraps last 5–8 years in normal use. Done poorly — with the wrong film or inadequate edge treatment — the result will start to lift much sooner.
Which films work in bathrooms?
Not all vinyl films are suitable for wet environments. For bathroom cabinets you need:
- A film with a moisture-resistant adhesive (not all architectural vinyls qualify)
- Proper edge-sealing on all cut edges — this is where bathroom wraps fail if it's not done
- A film surface that can tolerate cleaning products and regular wiping
We use moisture-rated films from 3M, CoverStyl and Avery Dennison for all bathroom cabinet work. The adhesive grade and surface coating are different from standard architectural vinyl — it's not a product you can buy at a DIY store and expect to perform correctly in a bathroom environment.
Best finishes for bathroom cabinets
Gloss white
The classic bathroom finish. Reflective, clean-looking, easy to wipe down. Works in virtually any bathroom regardless of size or style. Easy to touch up if a small area needs attention.
Concrete effect
Very popular for contemporary bathroom refits. A concrete grey finish on a vanity unit gives a boutique hotel feel and hides marks effectively. The matt or satin surface is much more practical for daily bathroom use than a high-gloss concrete paint.
Marble effect
Calacatta white marble effect, grey veined marble or Statuario are all popular for bathroom vanity units. Particularly effective when used on the cabinet combined with a matching or complementary worktop vinyl on the vanity top.
Matt grey or charcoal
Contemporary, practical and forgiving on marks. Soft anthracite grey is one of the most requested bathroom finishes currently — it works with almost every bathroom tile style and colour scheme.
Woodgrain
Light oak or walnut in bathrooms creates a warm, spa-like aesthetic. Particularly effective in larger bathrooms or wet rooms where the natural tone works well against stone or neutral tiles. The film must be moisture-resistant for this application — standard woodgrain vinyl will delaminate in a humid bathroom.
What bathroom surfaces can be wrapped?
- Vanity unit doors and drawer fronts under the sink
- Fitted bathroom storage cupboards and cabinets
- Over-bath side and end panels
- Bathroom mirror cabinet fronts (the frame)
- Airing cupboard doors
- Carcass faces and plinths on fitted bathroom units
Tiled surfaces can also be wrapped with appropriate film — we cover this in our splashback and tile wrapping guide.
How much does bathroom cabinet wrapping cost?
Bathroom cabinet wrapping is priced per door or per unit:
- Single vanity unit door: from £45
- Standard vanity unit (2–3 doors): typically £120–£200
- Full bathroom furniture set: typically £300–£600
Fixed price after a free survey. Can be combined with kitchen or bedroom wrapping in the same visit.
Bathroom cabinet wrap vs replacement
New fitted bathroom furniture starts at around £500–£800 for basic units and can run to several thousand for a fitted suite. Wrapping existing units that are structurally sound achieves the same visual result in a day and at a fraction of the cost — without any plumbing disruption or tiling damage.
